IOWC Rural Democrats is now searching for our new Chair!
What does the chair DO, exactly?

According to our bylaws, The CHAIR shall: 

  • Preside at all meetings. 

  • Ascertain that a quorum is present prior to calling any meeting to order for the conduct of business. 

  • Represent the Committee at Legislative District Committee meetings, unless the chair does not live in a particular District, or unless the chair appoints another officer to fill in temporarily. 

As we expand our committee, the chair will be expected to commit to fully staffing our subcommittees, helping shape our teams, and serve the group alongside the rest of the executive staff team.

This term runs from July 21, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. until January 19, 2026, at 8:00 p.m.

If you’re interested, please submit your contact /information and a brief introduction, along with any additional information you’d like to share with the voting members, using this form. Please submit your candidacy not later than 11:59 pm on July 4, 2025. On July 6, 2025, we will send this information to all dues-paying, voting members of the committee, and we will select a new chair at our meeting on July 21, 2025.

Bill Robinson

Charles W. “Bill” Robinson

VICE CHAIR, acting as Chair

Bill has been a resident of Isle of Wight County for the past 20 years and currently lives in Carrollton. He served with distinction in the U.S. Army for 23 years, followed by two decades as a Department of Defense civilian. His military career included deployments to Afghanista1n and numerous other overseas assignments. Bill is a disabled veteran enrolled in the VA system.

He and his wife, Sherry, are the proud parents of five children and are grandparents to five grandchildren.

Since retiring, Bill has become an active supporter of the Democratic Party. His commitment to political engagement has only deepened in response to the excesses of the Trump Administration. He firmly believes that protecting the Constitution, upholding the rule of law, and ensuring liberty and justice for all requires unity—and a collective effort to turn Virginia and the United States Democratic blue.

Greg Brown

TREASURER

Greg is a Civil Engineer, and a proud Virginia Tech Hokie!

He worked in construction for over 20 years in several US states and one Canadian province before returning home to Smithfield to settle down.

He likes reading, biking, old movies, and baking.

Ember Zado

SECRETARY

Ember graduated from Tidewater Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Business Management, in Sociology, and in Liberal Arts.
She graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Management and Society.
She is currently pursuing a master’s degree at Harvard University’s Extension School.

Ember is a US Navy Enlisted Veteran, proud mom to a Windsor High School Duke, and a fan of dance music and gardening.

Inetha Holmes

Isle of Wight Electoral Board Chair

The Isle of Wight County Electoral Board is a three-member panel appointed by the Isle of Wight County Circuit Court Judges, based on nominations from the two political parties that received the most votes in the most recent gubernatorial election. The Governor’s party has two representatives on the Board, and the party receiving the next highest number of votes has one representative. Inetha Holmes is the representative on the board for the Democratic Party.
